This is an all-original late war Luftschutz (anti-aircraft defense) helmet in nice condition.  It is inked on the sweatband "Salzburg Austria" with a series of partially indecipherable numbers beneath.  The stamp in the rear skirt is also very light and hard to decipher.  It appears to read "39/2".  The style of the helmet is the one-piece stamped construction with the super rare two-piece plastic chin strap.  Part of the edge of the chin strap piece with the adjuster holes is damaged but does not detract from the visual appearnce or the visual "explanation" of the function.  The other plastic piece with the roller buckle adjuster is intact.  Liner and string all intact and undamaged.  Decal in front is entirely missing.  It appears as though it never had a decal.  No dents, bad scrapes or repairs.
